RECIPE FROM "SANDY'S
Sweet and Sour Meatballs
2 pounds ground beef
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan Cheese
1 tablespoon ketchup
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Ingredients for Sauce
1 bottle (14 ounces) ketchup
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 jar (12 ounces) apple jelly
1 jar (12 ounces) currant jelly
In bowl, combine the first 12 ingredients; mix well. Shape into 1" balls.
Place meatballs on a rack in shallow roasting pan and bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Thoroughly remove rack and meatballs, pouring off all juices from pan. Return meatballs to roasting pan.
In a separate bowl, combine ketchup and cornstarch and mix thoroughly until smooth. Stir in jellies and mix well.
Cover the meatballs with the ketchup/cornstarch/jelly mixture
Cover with roasting pan lid and bake 30 minutes.
Note: These freeze well.
