RECIPE FROM "SANDY'S
Pecan Cheese Straws
(These freshly baked snacks make a wonderful cocktail appetizer.)
1 1/2 cup Flour
1/4 pound Butter
1 1/4 cup Sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
1 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
1/2 cup Pecans, chopped
Place all ingredients except pecans in the bowl of a food processor. Run until a smooth dough begins to form. Add pecans and pulse a few times. Place in a plastic bag and refrigerate at least 45 minutes.
Pre-heat the oven to 350. Roll the dough out, in small batches, to about 1/4-inch thick. Cut the dough into strips six inches by 1/2-inch. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until just starting to brown. Do not overcook. Allow to cool before serving.
Makes 3-4 dozen
