RECIPE FROM "THE
CLASSIC WALDORF SALAD
2 Tbsp. orange juice
3 large tart red apples, unpeeled and diced
1/2 Cup diced celery
1/2 Cup sour cream
1/2 Cup raisins
1/4 Cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
Lettuce leaves (optional)
SPRINKLE orange juice over apples, toss lightly, and drain.
COMBINE apples, celery, and next 4 ingredients, and stir well.
COVER and chill.
SERVE on lettuce leaves if desired.
NOTE: Some variations are bananas & pecans or, in the Summer, peaches and peanuts. You can also add 1 cup of shredded cooked chicken.
