Sandy's Pot Roast Gravy

1/2 cold water

1/4 cup flour

2 cups roast drippings broth (add canned beef broth if there aren't enough drippings to make 2 cups)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

Combine water and flour in a jar (water goes in first, then flour on top). Cover tightly with lid and shake well until thoroughly blended.

Stir flour mixture slowly into broth in a saucepan.

Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.

Taste before adding seasonings. Depending on how the roast was seasoned, you may not want any additional seasoning, or you may want more. Add seasonings accordingly.

Add salt, garlic salt, and pepper.

Yield 2-1/2 cups

Sandy's Note: If you want smooth gravy, free of roast residue, pour drippings through a sieve or a cheesecloth before adding thickening.
