POT ROAST

 

~ INGREDIENTS ~
 
  4 to 5 pound beef roast

1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix

1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup

1/2 (.75 ounce) package dry brown gravy mix

2 tablespoons water

10 fluid ounces cola-flavored carbonated beverage

3 stalks celery, chopped

3 carrots, chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

 

DIRECTIONS
 

  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

  Place meat in a roasting pan. Sprinkle chopped carrots, celery and minced garlic around the outside of roast.

  In a small bowl, combine the brown gravy mix with 2 tablespoons water. Mix together into a smooth paste. Add onion soup mix, mushroom soup and cola flavored carbonated soft drink. Pour over the roast.

  Cover pan and roast for one hour at 350 degrees F

  Turn heat down to 225 degrees F and roast for 2 hours. Remove from oven, and turn roast over so that the top is now covered with the gravy. Cover and return to oven for a minimum of 2 hours.

  Remove from oven, let cool for 10 minutes and slice meat.
