RECIPE FROM "SANDY'S
Grandma's Bread Pudding
3 Tablespoons margarine, melted (Grandma used butter)
3/4 to 1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups milk (Grandma, of course, used cream)
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 (1-inch thick) bread slices, torn into small pieces (I like to use de-crusted French bread)
Drizzle butter into an 8-inch square pan. Whisk together sugar and next 4 ingredients. Stir in bread. Spoon mixture into pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes and then stir. Bake 35 more miunutes or until pudding is set. Serve warm or room temperature.
Note: I like to drizzle warm caramel sauce over each individual serving.
Makes 4 to 6 servings
