RECIPE FROM "SANDY'S
Curried Vegetable Dumplings
1 (3 ounce) package of cream cheese
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/2 cup chopped cooked broccoli
1/2 cup chopped cooked cauliflower
1/2 cup cooked peas
Packaged 2-crust pie pastry
1 egg white, slightly beaten
Soften cream cheese to room temperature; beat with honey and spices until smooth.
Stir in remaining ingredients except crust.
Makes about 1- 1/2 cups.
Cut pie crusts into (2-3/4 to 3-inch) circles, rerolling as needed.
Spoon about 1 teaspoon of filling in center of each circle.
Brush edges of circles with slightly beaten egg white.
Fold in half; press edges together with fork tines.
Deep fry 2 or 3 pastry half circles for 2 to 3 minutes, turning to brown both sides.
